Elaine's Barmy Army

Walk for Parkinson's: Yorkshire 2026

Why we are fundraising for Parkinson's UK

For the second year, Team Elaine's Barmy Army will be taking part in the Parkinson's UK Walk in memory of an incredible woman, Elaine.

Elaine was so much more than a Parkinson's diagnosis. She was a loving mum, wife, grandmother, family member, and friend who faced every challenge with remarkable strength, courage, and determination.

Although Parkinson's became part of her life, it never defined who she was. She continued to inspire those around her with her resilience, humour, and unwavering spirit.

Sadly, Elaine passed away last year, but her memory lives on in everything we do. Taking part in this walk is our way of honouring her life, celebrating the person she was, and remembering the courage she showed throughout her journey with Parkinson's.

Parkinson's affects millions of people and their families, bringing daily challenges that many never see. While tremendous progress has been made, there is still so much work to do. By raising funds for Parkinson's UK, we hope to support vital research, improve services for those living with the condition, and help move us closer to better treatments—and one day, a cure.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you're able to support us, we would be incredibly grateful. And if you can't donate, sharing our page and helping us spread awareness means just as much.

We walk in memory of Elaine.
We walk for everyone living with Parkinson's.
We walk in hope for a future where no family has to experience the impact of this disease.

Thank you for supporting Elaine's Barmy Army. ❤️

"A warrior is not someone who never struggles, but someone who keeps going despite the struggle." Elaine was our warrior, and we will be walking proudly in her honour. 💙
