Breaking news middle age man in Lycra takes on longest ride of his life to raise cash for Parkinson UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm taking part in the 82 mile/132 km Pedal Wye Valley for Parkinson’s UK this September and would appreciate your support!
A little bit about me before the hard sell I am Alasdair a balding middle age man who enjoys getting out on his bike. Having had my mother in law and Aunt diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in recent years it has given me the motivation to take on this challenge. Seeing the effect this horrible disease has had on my family members and being unable to practically aid their fight I decided the best way I can help is to raise money for this charity continue all their support and research to hopefully find a cure.
Please help by sponsoring my cycling challenge. All the money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK's work in support of their UK wide physical activity and exercise programmes with the aim of helping people with Parkinson's get active and stay active.
My updates

Longest Ride before taking on this challenge
Tuesday 13th May
At 82miles/132 km and 2,070m/5,793ft of climbing (equivalent of climbing Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa twice) this challenge will be a step up as my longest ride to date just under 18.5 miles/30 km shorter and 600m/1,550ft more climbing so taking on this challenge will be a personal best in distance and elevation gained. but I’m confident I will complete it. I am aiming for 6h 30 mins but I will see how my training goes I’ll keep you updated on my progress along the way.
