Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the TCS 2025 London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support! 

Parkinson’s UK is a charity very close to my family and I’s hearts as my Mum suffers from the disease and we see on a daily basis how this affects her day to day life and what changes need to be made to her daily routine in order for her to live as independently as possible. My aim is to help raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause but to also spread awareness of Parkinson’s and how it can affect those going through it and what can be done to help through donations such as more research into the disease and share the importance of finding a cure.

Update 2/3/2025

Sunday 2nd Mar
Well… 8 weeks into the training plan and so far so good! Completed my first half marathon of the year in a time of 1 hour 50 minutes which I was over the moon with! A steady deload week was to follow which has been nice to let the legs recover a little. The next 3 weeks I am going to be putting in some serious hard work but my mindset is that the more I get done now, the easier it will be on race day! 
Donations coming in are so greatly appreciated & with the quiz night and raffle around the corner I shouldn’t be too far off my target!

Half Marathon

Monday 9th Sep
So decided to enter the Bedford half marathon as my wife, Ellisha has entered mainly to just test the water and give the marathon training a kick start! The aim was to try and stick at the same pace all the way round and not slope off at the end, I felt stronger than any run I’d done before, knocked a minute off my half PB & felt full of confidence after this! 
Also a massive well done to Ellisha! She absolutely smashed her first half marathon! 

So.. It’s happening!

Wednesday 31st Jul
I only really got into running properly in the last year or so, after attending a few park runs, I started entering myself into 10k events, leading to a 10 mile event and then my first half marathon in March 2024!  
I’d always had an interest in the London marathon and always enjoyed watching it on the TV. This year I really wanted to get involved somehow, so I contacted Parkinson’s UK about how I could help, they were great and got back in touch to say they are always looking for people to cheer on their runners at the cheer points! 
So me & mum decided to head down to London and do exactly that. We had a great day cheering the runners through their 26.2 miles & it really inspired me to enter 2025 and here we are… Let’s do this!!!
